"SPEED RACKING STANDARDBREDS" Standardbreds are bred for speed, so if you have a fast horse I bet if you look in those blood lines there will be Standardbred blood in there some where. The record speed in a pace for a Standardbred is 33.89 mph, and that is pulling a sulky.
Most
Standardbreds are gaited, and can reach speed up to 30 mph.
Sorry those outlandish speed some people post about their horses
just are not true. No gaited horse with a rider on it's back can reach
over a racing speed, if so those horses would be on the track
Next time your buddy says my horse hit over 25
in a Rack/Singlefoot tell him to recheck that stop watch. That
old chasing the horse with the truck just don't work. Try
putting him or her on the track where the real speed is and see
how long that racking/singlefoot horse can keep up. If you have
a gaited horse that will hit up to 20 mph that is moving and
nothing to be a shame of. I have found GPS's and Radar Guns not
to give a true reading on a horse. The GPS works good if it will not bounce
around on a riders are. A Radar Gun was made for large moving metal cars &
trucks, not small moving horses. Our stallion's foals are all natural gaited at birth, gentle, easy handled, super smart, perfect conformation, built for speed & smoothness. Color is only a added plus coming from a stabino stallion. Check out Stroker's page and his babies page. Watch STROKER ride Bareback
